E-scooter seized on Fairfield |
||
|
Police on patrol of Fairfield this evening have seized an E-scooter. While on mobile patrol a male was stopped and advised around the illegal use of the scooter and advised to take it off the streets. Unfortunately, the good advice given to him was not heeded and minutes later the same male rode the scooter past the officers. When they went in the direction of the male they found the scooter abandoned. It's not currently possible to get insurance for privately owned e-scooters. This means it’s illegal to use them on the road or in public spaces, such as parks, street pavements, and shopping centres. If you use a privately-owned e-scooter in public, you risk the vehicle being seized under S.165 Road Traffic Act 1988 for having no insurance. | ||
