PARKING MATTERS π
ΏοΈ
Today, in line with our current beat priorities, officers seized a vehicle on Station Road, Kegworth after it was found parked in a dangerous, obstructive position.
The highway code indicates that drivers must not park opposite or within 10m of a junction. This rule exists to ensure clear visibility, keeping turning areas unobstructed and to maintain the safety of motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. ππ΄πΆββοΈ Parking in a manner that causes unnecessary obstruction may constitute an offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988 and can result in enforcement action, including fines or the removal of the vehicle.
Despite efforts to locate the owner, including Police systems and good old fashioned door knocking- the vehicle had to be seized as the owner was not located to move it. Trust me, I didn't want to have to wait with it, especially when there are other things that I could be doing. It once again acts as a stark reminder that where you park matters. βοΈ
