“Our GMP City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team and our Night‑time Economy Operation Custodian Officers are out on both foot and mobile patrols across the city centre tonight. We also have extra police officers on patrol in and around the Village, working alongside the Village Angels to help keep everyone safe.”

Village Angels: Getting you home safe since 2011 – LGBT Foundation Manchester’s Gay Village is iconic and a vital part of our community, and we’re proud to help keep it safe. The Village Angels make sure that everyone can have a great night out and stay safe:
They’re out every Friday and Saturday until 3am – look out for their bright pink high‑vis jackets. They also operate the Village Haven on Bloom Street for anyone needing support. The Angels are part of a wider community safety network in the Village, working with emergency services, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, venues, and door staff to offer help whenever needed.
WalkSafe+, the UK’s leading free personal safety app, has launched in Manchester. The free app combines journey-sharing features with a detailed safe-space map to help residents, workers and visitors in Manchester to safely navigate the city with confidence.
