Our Safer Neighbourhood Team carries out visible speed monitoring because the aim is to slow drivers down, not to catch people out. National NPCC guidance is clear that speed checks should be clearly visible so that drivers have every opportunity to adjust their speed. Being open and in plain sight helps us prevent collisions and supports the wider Fatal Five road safety campaign. 2) How we want the public to feel
We want our communities to feel reassured, knowing that our presence is about keeping roads safe for everyone — especially in areas where residents have raised speeding as a priority. 3) What we want the public to do
