I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle crime (theft from or theft of), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Community Safety Notice – Vehicle Theft
Dear residents, We wanted to make you aware that a vehicle theft has recently occurred in the local area. We are currently making enquiries, and officers will be carrying out patrols in the vicinity. Please remain vigilant around your own vehicles and report anything suspicious at the earliest opportunity.
To help keep your vehicle secure, please consider the following safeguarding advice:
1. Always ensure your vehicle is locked, and double‑check by trying the handle before walking away. 2. Remove valuables from inside the vehicle, or keep them out of sight if they cannot be removed. 3. Do not leave keys near doors or windows inside your home, where they could be accessed using tools. 4. Consider using additional security devices such as steering wheel locks, wheel clamps, or driveway bollards. 5. If your vehicle uses keyless entry, store your key and spare key in a signal‑blocking pouch (Faraday pouch). 6. Park in a well‑lit area or near CCTV where possible. 7. Report any suspicious behaviour immediately via 101/999 as you see fit.
If you have any information that may assist with recent incidents, please contact us on 101 or report online. Always dial 999 if a crime is in progress or if there is an immediate risk.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep our community safe.
