Road Safety Day of Action - Thorne

On Tuesday we carried out a day of action across Thorne focused on keeping our roads safe, particularly around our local schools. We supported school crossing patrols, tackled illegal parking near schools, speeding vehicles and drivers using mobile phones. Several tickets were issued for school parking violations and mobile phone use, while officers also engaged with hundreds of parents and children around King Edward Primary, Brook Primary  School and Green Top Primary. 

While the focus was on education, action was taken where needed, and we’re also following up on reports of off-road bikes near Trinity Academy with help from our off-road bike team.
