Ledbury Safer Neighbourhood Team recently carried out a joint welfare operation at a business on Bromyard Road, Ledbury, alongside colleagues from Hereford and Ross-on-Wye SNT and @HWFire.
The visit followed information received through Crimestoppers regarding concerns for the welfare of individuals reportedly living on site. Officers attended with fire service partners to ensure the safety of those potentially affected.
During the visit, a container showing signs of being used as sleeping accommodation was identified. One person was arrested on suspicion of immigration‑related matters, and has since been referred to the appropriate authorities.
Fire officers have issued prohibition notices preventing any buildings on the site from being used for sleeping or resting until essential safety measures are put in place, including a fire risk assessment and electrical safety checks.
This operation demonstrates the value of joint‑agency working to safeguard vulnerable people and ensure safe working and living conditions. We will continue to work with partner agencies to address any concerns raised by our communities.
If you have information about suspicious activity or concerns for someone’s welfare, you can report anonymously via Crimestoppers or via our website https://www.westmercia.police.uk/ro/report/. | |
