Officers have been patrolling around local schools during drop‑off and pick‑up times. We are working hard to address parking concerns raised by schools in these areas.
Inconsiderate or illegal parking puts pedestrians and other road users at risk. It can also block access for emergency vehicles. During drop‑off and pick‑up hours, it is illegal to park or stop on the yellow zig‑zag lines. These markings are in place to protect children, parents, and staff. We ask all road users to work together during these busy periods to prevent arguments or road‑rage incidents.
While some enforcement activity is carried out jointly with partners, many issues can be resolved simply through raising awareness of the risks and consequences, or by using other practical measures.
