I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. PROJECT ADDER – KING’S TRUST REFERRAL PATHWAY
Project ADDER, Westminster Council and The King’s Trust are working together to offer a dedicated referral pathway for young people into FREE training, employment, mentoring and business support. The aim is to divert young people away from criminality and exploitation, reduce risk, and support positive, sustainable futures.
WHO THIS IS FOR Young people in Westminster who are associated with or on the periphery of gangs and would benefit from structured support and real opportunities.
⚠️ ONLY 50 REFERRAL SPACES AVAILABLE Referrals must be appropriate and carefully considered.
WHAT SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE Referred young people receive: Dedicated case worker Priority access to King’s Trust programmes 1-to-1 mentoring Support with: Education & training Employment & work experience CVs & cover letters Business start-ups & self-employment Funding & grants Expenses covered (travel, food, etc.) Ongoing safeguarding & wellbeing support

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Young people must: Be 16–30 years old Be a Westminster resident Be NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Not have convictions for serious sexual or violent offences Not be actively entrenched in a gang Be willing to engage with support ✔️ No qualifications required ✔️ No experience needed ✔️ All programmes are FREE
KEY PROGRAMMES AVAILABLE Team Programme (16–25): 12 weeks, full-time + qualification Explore (16–25): 10 weeks, flexible personal development Get Started (16–25): 1–2-week tasters Get Into (16–30): 2–8 weeks training + guaranteed interviews (6,000 young people gained employment in 2024) Health & Social Care (18–30): Fast-track interviews Get Hired (18–30): No CV required Enterprise (18–30): 12-month business support £500 grants to test ideas Up to £30,000 to launch a business
