On Tuesday 20th February, PC 3819 Matthews and PC 4967 Skidmore were on patrol in Castleford Town Centre when a male suspect was sighted failing to comply with the public spaces protection order. This male had already been warned as per the legal process earlier in the day. PC Matthews therefore issued a fixed penalty notice for the breach.

Castleford Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is a local authority order which is imposed to address anti-social behaviour in the town centre. More specifically, it prohibits persons in the town centre from having open vessels of alcohol, street drinking, using intoxicating substances or from urinating or defecating in a public place.
