On Wednesday 14th February PC 841 Shaw and PC 2261 Doherty sighted an off road style electric motorbike committing road traffic offences in the Airedale area. PC Shaw commenced a pursuit of the suspect rider who failed to stop and drove dangerously. With the assistance of the police helicopter which was already airborne in the area on an unrelated matter, the suspect was monitored through Fryston woods, where the bike was abandoned. The helicopter observer guided PC Shaw and PC Doherty to the male suspect who was subsequently arrested on the following matters: Drive a motor vehicle dangerously, fail to stop, drive whilst over the prescribed limit for drugs, drive whilst disqualified. The male suspect has been released on bail whilst the various matters are investigated further.
