Patrol Updates and housing issues

PC Loveday has been out on patrol covering our hotspots for the moment. I have also been looking for a male who is wanted. I have also witnessed a male breaching his CBO twice and detained a male for a drugs search.

And it is this I wanted to clarify. At the moment I am very much working as a security guard working to stop ASB and move people on. I am very limited in what I can achieve. If i had arrested the male for breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order, I would be in for the rest of my shift. So luckily this male has an address and come in next week to be charged.

I have also noticed some confusion about the police role in housing. We can not solve housing issues. In extreme cases where the Housing provider in contributing to extreme cases of ASB and their neglect is a key factor, we can put pressure on them.

We can not contact every housing officer about every broken gate. They will no more listen to us in these matters than they would listen to you.

Organisations such as Citizens Advice, Shelter and the Anti-Social Behaviour team at Ealing Council are much better equipped to tackle these issues.
