Unusual Activity in Fownhope

Good afternoon residents,

We wanted to share a recent report from a Fownhope resident regarding some unusual activity in the early hours of Saturday 16 January.

At around 5.00am, two people were seen at the end of a driveway using torches to look around the area. They stayed there briefly before walking away and later appeared to meet with others further along the road. The behaviour was considered unusual due to the early hour and the fact that they were walking on the side of the road where there is no pavement.

There’s nothing at this stage to indicate that any criminal activity took place, and the activity may well have an innocent explanation. However, sharing observations like this helps keep the community aware and encourages everyone to look out for anything that doesn’t feel quite right 👀.

✔️ Make sure outside lighting is working and consider using motion‑activated lights.

✔️ Keep doors, vehicles and outbuildings locked, even overnight.

✔️ If you have CCTV or video doorbells, ensure they’re positioned correctly and functioning.
