š Local Priority: Tackling Drug Use in Our Community
Keeping our neighbourhood safe is at the heart of everything we do, and reducing drug use and drugārelated activity remains one of our key local priorities. Drug misuse doesnāt just affect the individuals involved ā it impacts families, young people, vulnerable residents, and the wider community. It often goes handāināhand with other issues such as antisocial behaviour, exploitation, and acquisitive crime, all of which can have a longāterm negative effect on the places we live and work. We understand the concern many of you have shared, and we want to reassure you that we are actively patrolling hotspot areas, acting on intelligence, and working closely with partner agencies to identify those at risk and disrupt those responsible for bringing drugs into our neighbourhoods. But we canāt do it alone.
Your information plays a vital role in helping us take action. Even small details ā unusual comings and goings, strong smells, discarded drug paraphernalia, or suspicious behaviour ā can help us build a clearer picture of whatās happening. When you report it, it allows us to target our patrols, carry out enquiries, and take enforcement where needed.
š If you have concerns about drug use or drugārelated activity in your area, please report it to us online: You can also provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers:
By working together, we can reduce harm, protect the vulnerable, and make our community a safer place for everyone. Thank you for continuing to support your local policing team.
