Public Space Protection Order |
||
|
Dear Resident,
A Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is in place to help keep our shared spaces safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
Police and authorised officers can now move people on if they're gathering or causing disruption without a legitimate parking reason. Nine car parks across Plymouth are now covered by a PSPO following public concerns about noise, loitering and safety.
The PSPO sets out specific rules for behaviour in public areas where activities have been shown to have a negative impact on the community. These rules are designed to prevent nuisance, anti social behaviour, and environmental issues, while protecting the rights of residents, visitors, and local businesses.
Behaviours covered by a PSPO may include things like: Thank you for helping us look after our public spaces!
