Whilst we are in the midst of winter along with it we are getting of course the darker evenings and dull daylight conditions along with very changeable weather.
From time to time on our patrols we come across cyclists be them young or older without any lights, high visibilty clothing or helmets.
Many of these cyclists are barely visible to drivers.
Things to note:
π² Visibility can drop very quickly. Whether you're popping out for a short ride or travelling longer distances. π² Front and rear lights are essential. π² Make sure they are bright and working before you set off. π² Wearing a helmet significantly reduces the risk of serious head injuries. π² Bright or reflective clothing can make a huge difference. π² Reflective bands, vests, and accessories help you stand out from all angles. π² Donβt assume drivers can see you β position yourself where you can be noticed. π² Avoid riding in blind spots and make your intentions clear.
Many of these items can be bought quite cheaply in a number of stores and could save your life.
