Theft of Scooter - Sunset Drive, Ilkley LS29

Dear Resident,

Sometime between 3pm on 18/01/2026 and 08.30am on 19/01/2026, a light brown Vespa scooter was stolen from an address on Sunset Drive, Ilkley. A member of the public reported the scooter had been apparently abandoned in a snicket not far from the owners address. The scooter was taken back to the owners address having suffered some damage to the steering lock and petrol cap. 

The report does not say what other security measures had been used to secure the scooter if any. The steering lock on a motorcycle can easily be broken with the use of force and should not be relied on as the only theft prevention device.
