Warrant in Deerswood Avenue |
||
|
An arrest has been made in relation to the one of the recently announced local policing priorities. These priorities are set every four months, providing a specific focus on the issues that residents have raised through surveys, alongside an analysis of data. The Welwyn Hatfield South Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) are currently focusing on drug issues in Deerswood Avenue, Hatfield. Officers from the team wasted no time in getting to work ahead of the priority being announced and they carried out a warrant in the street on Friday 9 January. An 18 year old man from Hatfield was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply (ketamine). Ketamine was seized from the address and the man was given a conditional caution. The warrant followed on from a door-to-door engagement carried out by PC Martin Field and PCSO Thomas Martin on Friday 2 January. Residents filled in the local policing priorities survey on Herts Connected where issues of drugs and associated anti-social behaviour were raised. Sergeant Robert Wilson, who leads the Welwyn Hatfield South NPT, said: “We take reports of drugs extremely seriously. When the new priorities were being set, we visited houses in Deerswood Avenue and many residents reported concerns about drugs in the area, along with associated anti-social behaviour. I hope these residents feel reassured that we are listening to them.” You can report information about drugs online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org. In an emergency, or if you think a crime is in progress, always call 999. | ||
