New Policing Priorities Hemel Hempstead East |

Dear Resident
New local policing priorities set for Dacorum
Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) across Dacorum have set their new local policing priorities for the coming months.
NPTs work alongside partners to focus on solving long and short-term neighbourhood issues, such as anti-social behaviour, theft, speeding and drug-related crime.
Using an analysis of data, they set local policing priorities every four months, to provide a specific focus on the issues which are currently causing the most concern. Feedback from members of the public also plays a vital part. Residents will see their dedicated team of PCs and PCSOs across Dacorum working alongside partners to address the issues, through an increased police presence, engagement events and targeted enforcement.
During the last period, the following priorities were addressed:
Speeding Reports have reduced following local engagements with schools and additional high visibility patrols. This problem was also discussed at Police Surgeries and community meetings.
Vehicle Nuisance & ASB - Swallowfields Reassurance surgeries were held in Swallowfields and at Woodhall Farm (to which Swallowfields residents were invited) this also included a community meeting involving local councillors and senior police personnel. Additional patrols were introduced.
Drug use - Grovehill Considerable work has been undertaken lead by PC Beresford. Successful arrests and Closure Orders. Additional resources used and a big increase in Intel that has produced excellent results. Targeted patrols.
From your responses to our surveys, the following are the priorities over the next three months:
Whilst there will be a focus on the local priorities, officers will continue to respond to daily business as usual, as well as force wide priorities and any emerging issues which require more immediate action.
Alongside the NPT, Dacorum is also policed by officers who respond to emergency calls, a team of detectives who investigate crimes such as burglary, robbery and assault, and specialist units who work to tackle issues such as acquisitive crime and domestic abuse. In addition, they can call on officers from central teams which work countywide.
You can keep up to date with work around the priorities by following us on social media and via the ‘Your Area’ section of the Herts police website.
Kind regards Simon
