Local Priorities Mobile phone theft Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

We have seen an increase in mobile phone snatches across Hackney Wick, particularly involving suspects using electric bikes to approach victims quickly and riding away. Officers have been conducting targeted patrols in hotspot areas (Here East, Wallis Road), engaging with the community, and working with local partners to identify offenders and gather intelligence. We will continue proactive patrols and enforcement to deter phone snatching and provide reassurance to residents.
