Special Operation near Crayford BR Station on Wednesday 14th January 2026

On Wednesday 14th January 2026 officers from several local safer neighbourhood teams were in Crayford during the late afternoon and early evening.  They were a strong police presence focused around the railway station and town centre where there have been recent reports of robbery and drug dealing.

Metropolitan Police drugs dogs and their handler were also in attendance and were able to indicate those believed to be carrying drugs.  As a result there were nine stop and searches.  One PND (penalty notice for disorder) was issued.  There were 45 engagements with shops and local residents.  Crime prevention on preventing robbery and about personal safety was given to shoppers and commuters alike.

On a positive note, a suspect for the the current robbery investigation has been identified and is being dealt with.
