North Yorkshire Police are investigating two thefts of fuel that took place:

Between 2 December and 15 January

Between 5 January and 16 December

If you have any information that could help identify those responsible, we’d like to hear from you.

Did you or anyone in your household see or hear anything suspicious during these dates?

Do you have CCTV that may have captured the incident or activity before/after it?

Do you have a dash‑cam fitted to a vehicle parked in the area?

Prevent theft

Hide the location of the tank

Fit your oil tank with a padlock or lockable filler cap

Secure the oil tank within a cage

Install lockable gates

Fit an electronic gauge, which can activate an alarm when the oil level drops

Fit security lights near to the oil tank location

Fit CCTV cameras
