Mobile Phone Theft on Church Road E12 has been on the rise…. in the past months we have seen a rise in mobile phone thefts being snatched right out of peoples hands, by it be walking the streets or waiting at a bus stop.
Mobile phone theft is a common crime where someone has snatched/pick pocketed, often these criminals are using pedal bikes/mopeds.
Here are a few things to keep you and your phone safe; Be aware; avoid using your phone whilst walking or waiting on the bus stop. Secure; Secure your phone, by enabling tracking i.e ‘Find my iphone’ Note your IMEI; each Iphone has an individual IMEI number, please make a note of this number for police reports. Secure in Public; Don't leave your phones unattended, put them away.
What to do when your phone is stolen? Report it to the police; call 999 (for immediate theft) or call 101 provide IMEI number and get a crime reference number Contact provider; report your mobile phone as stolen to your phone provider/network to block sim/device. Change passwords; change passwords for important apps such as banking, social media, emails…
These are a few top tips to help you and your phone stay safe.
Please be aware of your surroundings, Do not use in busy areas, turn on find my iphone, keep it safe and not left unattended.
