Mobile Phone Snatches

Dear Manor Park,

Please be advised and aware - there have been reports of mobile phone snatches at different locations across E12 (Little Ilford/Manor Park) over the past few days.

The main reports have involved people standing using their phones at bus stops and when walking along the street. Victims have described a young man/men, dressed in black, their faces covered by black bandanas, on dark coloured peddle bikes seemingly appearing out of nowhere, snatching the phones - in one case pushing someone quite forcibly backwards - before disappearing at speed.

Unfortunately this scenario is text book - someone absorbed on their phone, standing in a public place with the phone basically on display in their hand.

Please exercise extreme caution - use your mobile in a safe place and be very mindful of your surroundings.
