Police were called at 7.25pm yesterday (Wednesday 14 January) to a collision on Oakley Lane in Oakley, between the junctions of The Vale and Croft Road. This involved a silver Audi A3 and a pedestrian – a woman in her 70s – who sadly died at the scene. The driver of the Audi, a 41-year-old man from Basingstoke, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and drug driving. He remains in custody.
