Crime prevention advice - Please consider purchasing a steering wheel lock for your vehicle. This will decrease the chances of your vehicle being targeted by offenders. Also remember to double check that your vehicle is locked, before leaving it unattended. Installing an immobiliser and covert tracking device will also increase the chance of getting your vehicle back should it be stolen. Visit the following link for further advice to keep your vehicle secure: Preventing car and vehicle theft | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police - Consider purchasing a decent lock for your pushbike to prevent it being stolen. Visit the following link for further advice to keep your bicycle secure: Protect your bike from theft | West Midlands Police - Consider installing anti-snap locks to all external windows and doors on your home. This will make it more difficult for potential burglars to gain access to your home. Installing a monitored burglar alarm is also a great deterrent. Try to make the front and rear of your property as well-lit as possible by installing motion activated lighting. Visit the following link for further advice to keep your property secure: Keep burglars out of your property | West Midlands Police - CCTV is a great deterrent for offenders. This can also be crucial in linking criminals to multiple crimes.
⚠️ FROSTY MORNING WARNING ⚠️
Cold weather and ice are forecast for the next few days. You may need to defrost your vehicle in the morning. Every winter, cars and vans are stolen from driveways. Thieves are looking for unattended vehicles with keys in the ignition. It takes seconds to steal a vehicle but there are things you can do to prevent this.
1. Wrap up warm and stay with your vehicle whilst it defrosts 2. Buy de-icer or a windscreen scraper to help your vehicle defrost quicker 3. Keep your keys and valuables close 4. Warn your neighbours not to leave their vehicles unattended Our officers are out on patrol in your neighbourhood looking out for car thieves. Check out our local social media channels to see what we’re up to.

Local news - Home Office funding is provided to West Midlands Police to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime in areas that are identified as having a high rate of these incidents. As a result, local officers have been conducting targeted patrols in these locations, with the aim of providing a visible presence, engaging with the local community and deterring this type of behaviour. When your local Officers are off duty, these patrols are conducted by policing teams from other areas, ensuring that there is continual coverage. Officers record the results of these patrols and the information is then returned to the home office. Your local officers have been hard at work conducting these patrols, so please feel welcome to have a chat when you see us.
CCTV REGISTRY We need more people to register their home or business CCTV and doorbell cameras to help solve crime by providing footage when alerted. Register your CCTV or doorbell cameras at: CCTV Registry | West Midlands Police
How it works in three steps: 1. Register your cameras securely in 60 seconds 2. You will receive a text or email when a crime happens near your home or business and our officers believe your CCTV may have recorded the incident 3. Upload the images via the secure link contained in the message
