||
|
Resident Good evening, from the whole of the Delves neighbourhood team we would firstly like to say a very happy new year to all residents on the Paddock and Delves neighbourhoods. Hopefully the recent bad weather has not been to disruptive. The team have been busy over the xmas and new year period working various shift patterns to accommodate festivities being held throughout the borough. All officers and Our DNO'S ( Dedicated neighbourhood officers ) are back on there allocated beat.
Crime has remained low, however below are some incidents that have occurred during the first part of the month. Attempt theft of motor vehicle ( Skip Lane ) offenders arrived on the driveway with some sort of what looked like a relay device. However they were disturbed and left empty handed.
We had a attempt Burglary in Truro road, but again no entry gained due to home owner installing Anti Snap Euro Locks which did exactly what they are designed to do, again offender/s left empty handed.
We had another attempt burglary in Brockhurst street, but again no entry gained after being disturbed and offender/s left empty handed.
We had a theft of a Toyota from Westbromwich road, ( Owner still has keys ) this vehicle is still outstanding.
Officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in a location that had been raised by local residents close to Segundo road. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a Hunting knife, kitchen knife and Stanley knife were all recovered from the vehicle. The male was arrested, charged and bailed pending further enquires.
Another male was stopped on Bescot retail park, upon a search was in possession of cannabis. This was dealt with by way of a community resolution.
Officers from the Delves neighbourhood team supported our officers from the St Matthews neighbourhood team to carry out a drugs warrant at a property in Midland Road Walsall. Upon entering the building a huge cannabis cultivation set up was discovered with approximately 1700 cannabis plants being cultivated. One male was arrested at the scene.
Officers have carried out numerous stop searches for various reasons.
A cuppa with a Coppa event was held a Palfrey Park and another cuppa with a coppa event was held at NASHDOM community centre. The cuppa with a Coppa events are a great way for local residents to raise local issues and meet the local neighbourhood team. Dates times and locations are on the website. If anyone would like to contact us with a suggestion for a venue to be held in your area please drop us a line and we will see if we can accommodate it.
A school input has been delivered to year 5 students at Parkhall junior school discussing crime prevention around the home and the role of Neighbourhood watch in our communities.
As usual a massive thank you to all of our residents for the help and support the officers receive each and every day from the community and our partners.
