Vehicle crime/tool thefts |

Hello all
Just a quick and polite reminder to all vehicle owners but especially those who have vans with expensive trade tools inside there has been a theft of tools from a van in Greatstone last Friday evening possibly overnight into Saturday (9th and 10th). If you have to keep your tools within the van permanently and can't move them indoors every day after work (which I know for most of you is impractical) please make sure all the basics are done as far as vehicle security is concerned. This recent theft occurred outside the victim's property whilst it was parked on a verge between the road and driveway so if you aren't able to park your vehicle on your driveway or haven't got one then please make sure it's locked, alarm set, it's in a lit area ideally with CCTV covering it although I appreciate can be difficult if you haven't got a driveway. With regards to the recent theft I have conducted some CCTV enquiries but just in case I've missed some I would like to hear from anyone that has CCTV and is able to review the footage. The theft occurred in Seaview Road near to the train crossing so if anyone who lives in the following roads could check their cameras if they haven't already done so I'd be very grateful. Seaview Road and the junction of Seaview Road with Roberts Road, The Parade to its junction with Baldwin Road and the other way to Romney Sands. However, it's a large time window from 21:00 Friday-06:00 Saturday so it's a big ask of you but anything suspicious like slow moving cars/vans late into the evening/early hours of the morning in those roads please let me know by email 13183@kent.police.uk
Thank you Steve.
