Live Facial Recognition Operation |
||
|
Dear All, On Tuesday 15th January one of the Met's Live Facial Recognition vans returned to Victoria Street for another operation. The van uses the very latest facial recognition technology to identify wanted persons from the Metropolitan Police's data base as they pass the array of cameras. It does so with an extraordinary level of accuracy. During the course of the afternoon your local ward officers made 7 arrests of persons wanted for a variety of offences including Causing Actual Bodily Harm, Malicious Communications, Burglary and Theft. We were joined by officers from the Territorial Support Group (TSG) who also conducted a number of pro-active stop and searches in the streets around the Cathedral. These kinds of deployments will continue in coming months and will provide invaluable support to our ongoing efforts to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour across our ward.
