Dear Residents,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
PATROLS Officers have been carrying out patrols of the Longford areas on foot and in vehicles. We have been paying particular attention to locations that have recently experienced an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour, such as Riley Square, Phillips Walk, Arena Retail Park and Longford Park.
VEHICLE SEIZURES On 08/01/2026, officers seized a vehicle in Riley Square for no insurance. The driver was using the car whilst only having a provisional license and not insured to drive the vehicle. The driver also received a Fixed Penalty Notice.
VEHICLE CRIME & BURGLARY We have had two reports of a thefts from motor vehicles this week and one report of any burglaries in the Longford area.
The burglary occurred at Wyken Brook View, Almond Tree Avenue in the Bell Green area at 21:50-21:54 on 11/01/2026. During the incident, two suspects have broken into the rear of the victim's property by smashing the patio doors and have taken a handbag from within the property. We are still investigating this matter so if you may have heard or saw anything during this time, please contact us on 101 quoting 20/110352/26.
We had two reports of theft from motor vehicle in the Longford area - the first incident occurred between 20:00hrs on 05/01/2026 and 13:00 on 07/01/2026 where a Ford Fiesta on Alder Road was broken into and small change from within was taken. If you may have heard or saw anything suspicious in this area within the given times, please contact us on 101 quoting 20/106331/26. The second incident occurred between 18:00 on 06/01/2026 and 09:45 on 07/01/2026 whereby a Suzuki SX4 on Windmill Road was broken into and 3 bank cards and a driving license was taken from within.
