Cold callers

We have today received several reports of males cold calling at properties in the Aughton and Ormskirk areas.

Please keep the following advice in mind:

*Be cautious:   Doorstep sellers often target older or vulnerable people.  Some may claim to be ‘reformed criminals’ trying to turn their lives around, but this can be a tactic to try to gain trust.

*Signs help:  Displaying a 'No Cold Callers' sign can deter unwanted visitors.

If you feel threatened or in immediate danger, call 999

If it is not an emergency, report it via the non-emergency 101 number or online

If something feels wrong, trust your instincts and do not engage.
