Fake police telephone scam

There have been a number of recent courier fraud reports in your area. Criminals posing as police officers have telephoned local residents, deceiving them into handing over cash, purportedly as part of a covert investigation. Personas used by the criminals during the recent calls have included “Tom WESTWOOD” and “Robert YARDMAN”, purportedly calling from either SCOTLAND YARD or HAMMERSMITH police station. After tricking victims into obtaining cash or foreign currency, the criminals then send a purported “police courier” to collect these items from the victim's address.
