What the team got up to |
||
|
Afternoon all,
Today's update starts with a later night arrest yesterday as our team were covering the late night shift. One of our staff, (not a small lad mind you), was in plain clothes and stopped a male coming through the barriers at Morden thinking rail travel was optional. When challenged, threatened our officer. Mistake one. He then gave a tonne of verbal and our team mate moved to arrest. Mistake two. The suspect then tried to fight our colleague and was promptly arrested.
What started as a few words of advice and a payment for travel ended with an arrest for assaulting a police officer and fare evasion.
The early morning squad started in the early hours hunting a shoplifting team who again (there's a theme emerging here) thought that payment for goods was an optional thing. Even hidden away, they didn't show annoyingly, or thankfully, whichever way you view it.
A visit to Morden Town Centre followed where we caught a regular shoplifter who has been banned from pretty much everywhere.
Then the team visited an elderly gentleman to check in on him as he has been vulnerable to horrible criminals in the past. This is something the PCSOs like to do, and it reassures the resident that we are keeping an eye on them. (In a good way).
A meeting about some ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) followed to try and stem the issue before it blooms into chaos. Whilst some people think the small things aren't police matters, some have the tendency to fester, so they're better to sort early!
Just a quick thank you for the appreciation for these posts, it helps motivate us and keep us going!
As always, here below is the survey link for your feedback.
Have a lovely evening and hope you don't need us!
