Operation Snap

Dear NHM users,

Road Safety and Traffic Offences is a large part of Policing with West Mercia Police and more locally the Rural North Safer Neighbourhoods Team continuing to address and take action in this area, with Roads Policing being a 24 hour 7 days a week commitment across the Policing units. West Mercia Police and local teams carry out a number of Traffic related operations with various concerns being focused on, but we can’t be everywhere at once and you might be able to help.

In a day of technological advancements, which see’s most vehicles on our roads fitted with Dashcam’s and the wide range ownership of smart phones, one of these operations leans into these advancements and is dedicated to obtaining evidence from such devices. 

This is Operation Snap which provides the public of West Mercia a platform for reporting certain types of traffic offences to West Mercia Police.

Members of the public can report and submit digital footage showing potential traffic offences via a secure online form. These offences can range from driving dangerously or carelessly, to overtaking on solid white lines, using a mobile phone while driving, ignoring traffic lights, or dangerous driving around other road users, such as horse riders and cyclists.
