Serious injury collision, near Truro

We are investigating a serious road traffic collision near Truro and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

At 5.35pm on Friday 9 January, officers were notified of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a Blue Kawasaki motorcycle and a white Citroen Relay motorcaravan on an unclassified road near Chacewater, Truro.

As a result of the collision, the rider of the motorcycle, a local man in his 30s, received serious injuries.

His pillion passenger, a local woman also received less serious injuries. Both were treated by air ambulance before being conveyed to Treliske Hospital.

The driver of the motorcaravan was uninjured.

The road was closed for approximately four hours to allow a thorough examination of the scene and for recovery of the motorcycle. 

Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to come forward.
