I want to make you aware of an ongoing scam currently in Kent. Fraudsters are cold-calling individuals and falsely claiming to be from police. They often state that they require your assistance with an ongoing investigation. Please take a moment to read the advice below on how to remain vigilant and protect yourself from this type of fraud.
How the Scam Works Fraudsters may claim: Their goal is to trick you into handing over money or personal information, either in person, online, via a money service bureau, or at your bank.
What They Might Ask You to Do Tactics Used to Avoid Detection Protect Yourself Remember Your bank or the police will never ask for your PIN, bank card, or request you to withdraw money or make purchases on their behalf.
