SPEED WATCH

Dear residents of GIPSY HILL,

We’re pleased to share that we’ll be organising regular Speed Watch activities around the Ward to help keep everyone safe.

We’d really value your input, so please let us know which locations you feel are most affected by speeding or where it’s a particular concern. Your feedback will help us plan where Speed Watch is most needed.

We’re happy to report that we carried out a Speed Watch earlier today on GIPSY HILL SE19 in the early afternoon. 

The good news? Drivers were generally well-behaved! Wearing our high-visibility jackets clearly did the trick , speeds stayed within the limit, and we noticed several drivers slowing down even more once they spotted us. Some may have been having a brief moment of “Wait… what is the speed limit here?”

That said, one motorbike was stopped as a result of today’s action.

This shows that Speed Watch works, sometimes just being seen is enough to remind drivers to take care.

Please be aware that we’ll be carrying out these checks regularly to help ensure GIPSY HILL WARD remains a safe place for everyone who lives, walks, cycles, and drives here.

Drivers , consider this as your friendly reminder: behave yourselves, drive safely, and be responsible… because we’re out and about!
