❄️ Snow Patrols & Winter Safety Tips ❄️ Our officers have been out on snow patrols today in the area, keeping our roads and communities safe during the winter weather. Thank you to everyone for driving responsibly and looking out for one another! Here are some essential winter safety tips to keep in mind: ✅ Slow Down – Snow and ice reduce traction, so take extra care and allow more time for your journey. ✅ Increase Distance – Leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle ahead to avoid sudden braking. ✅ Clear Your Vehicle – Remove all snow and ice from windows, mirrors, lights, and roof before setting off. ✅ Pack Essentials – Carry warm clothing, a blanket, water, a torch and a charged phone in case of delays. ✅ Stay Alert – Watch for pedestrians and cyclists who may be harder to see in poor conditions. ✅ Plan Ahead – Check weather and traffic updates before travelling. If conditions worsen, consider postponing your trip. ✅ Keep off frozen water surfaces - Frozen water surfaces might look tempting however the ice can easily break and submerge you into extreme minus conditions and cause cold water shock. Our team is here to help, but your caution makes the biggest difference. Stay safe and look out for each other!
