Halliwell: Thousands of counterfeit cigarettes seized

This evening, officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have been on foot patrol around the Halliwell Road area, following concerns from the community about drug supply in the area.

As officers turned onto Guido Street, a man was seen getting items out of the boot of a car that the community had told us was possibly being used to store nitrous oxide.

The man ran off as soon as he saw officers but left the car unlocked. Inside the boot, officers located 8,800 illicit cigarettes, 44 packets of illicit tobacco and 19 bottles of nitrous oxide.
 

The car has been seized and enquiries are on going to identify who the items belong to.
