I wanted to provide you with an update regarding cycle theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.
On 08th January 2026 At 13:30 our ward DWO PC Spencer - Avison stopped a cyclist at Halfmoon lane/ Herne Hill cycling a modified E bike which is illegal and not suitable for public. upon further checks it was also discovered that the rider was an illegal immigrant doing delivery work . PC Avison seized the illegal pedal cycle and the rider was arrested for suspected Immigration offences and then taken to custody to be dealt with by immigration officers.
