Public/Business Alert ( community Warning) Courterfeit Currency.

Good Afternoon.

Today, January 9, 2026, officers conducted proactive visits to various street shops/shopping centers following reports of counterfeit currency circulating in the area. Officers spoke with management and staff at Peacocks, Boots, Sainsbury's, and Holland & Barrett stores. Shopkeepers reported that  individuals had attempted to use counterfeit £15 and £20 notes to pay for goods. Shop owners were instructed to report any further attempts by calling 101.
