Great results at the start of the new year

On Wednesday 7th January, town centre officers were out in a mix of plain clothes and high visibility for the first day of Operation Martello in 2026.

7 arrests were made in one shift including Possession of Offensive Weapon, Concerned in Supply of Class B and Breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Of note, officers arrested a male in West Croydon after a stash of drugs were found. They were about to conduct a search of the home address when a male as part of the same group was seen outside who was swiftly detained. Inside the address another male was found who was arrested as well as £4600 in cash and Class B drugs.

Operation Martello will continue into this year to target persistent drug dealing, violent crime and anti-social behaviour.
