Winter Watch Patrols

Dear All,

A belated Happy New Year and I hope you all had a good Christmas.

The Winter Watch patrols we did with the Police during the run up to Christmas were very successful. The Police have commented that “Notably, the areas we patrolled in November and December appear to have had little to no reports of burglary. This lends credence to the fact that our joint patrols are having a positive effect on burglaries in Woking.”

Consequently, the police would like to continue the Winter Watch patrols during the next 2 months and have requested Neighbourhood Watch volunteers to accompany them on patrol. I have found these patrols interesting and worthwhile.

These are the proposed patrols:

West Byfleet – Thursday 29th January 2026, 6pm-7pm (Meeting at West Byfleet Car Park, Woodlands Ave, West Byfleet, KT14 6DW)

Pyrford – Tuesday 3rd February 2026, 6pm-7pm (Meeting at Pyrford Common Recreation Ground, Pyrford Common Rd, Woking, GU22 8UA)

Knaphill – Saturday 7th February 2026, 6pm-7pm (Meeting at Sainsbury’s, Redding Way, Knaphill, Woking, GU21 2QT. Best to park at the far end nearest to the junction between Redding Way and Bagshot Road)

Goldsworth Park – Thursday 12th February 2026, 6pm-7pm (Meeting at Waitrose, Goldsworth Park Centre, 1 Denton Way, Woking, GU21 3LG)

St John’s – Wednesday 18th February 2026, 6pm-7pm (Meeting at St John's Lye, Woking, GU21 7SQ)

Mount Herman – Friday 27th February 2026, 6pm-7pm (Meeting at St Mary of Bethany Church, Mount Hermon Rd, Woking, GU22 7UH)
