Markfield Park Robbery Alert

Dear residents,

We would like to make you aware of recent incidents surrounding Markfield Park. There have been a series of violent robberies that have taken place in the park, which we believe has all been committed by the same perpetrators. 

There have been multiple reports of two males, wearing balaclavas on a bicycle riding up to individuals and threatening them with violence if they don't hand over their phone. On some occasions, they have asked for the time; prompting the victims to get their phone out and then snatch it. 

In response, we have been allocated additional resources and increased patrols in and around the park. To keep yourself safe, please keep your phone out of sight and be aware of who is around you. If you use headphones or earphones on your walks, It is advisable to keep the audio to a noise where you can still hear what is going on in your surroundings.
