Ravensworth Road Safety |
Good Afternoon,
Residents of Ravensworth have raised concerns regarding the manner of driving of large or agricultural vehicles through the village. I am just sending out a polite reminder that if you are driving any of the above vehicles then you please drive with caution through the village and on any of the surrounding narrow lanes, and are mindful of the surroundings.
Under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, driving without due care and attention is defined as driving that falls below the standard expected of a competent driver. This includes a wide range of behaviours that may not necessarily be intentional but still put other road users at risk. The offence is frequently prosecuted and can apply to a wide range of driving. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) outlines numerous examples, including misjudging speed, becoming distracted, or even inadvertently cutting off another vehicle.
