Man jailed after being found driving while disqualified |

A man who got behind the wheel while he was already banned from driving has been jailed. Sai Krishna Pallerla, aged 27 and of Sparrowhawk Place in Hatfield, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates Court on Monday 22 December, where he pled guilty to driving a motor vehicle while disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance. He was handed a 16-week prison sentence and prohibited from driving for a further two years. Pallerla was first stopped in November 2025, when officers from the Team B (South) from the BCH Roads Policing Unit stopped him while driving an uninsured vehicle. After further checks, officers found Pallerla had previously been disqualified from driving and should not have been behind the wheel at all. He was dealt with at the roadside and ordered to attend court. His vehicle was also seized. However, the same officers caught Pallerla driving again a month later in Bishop Rise, Hatfield. He was swiftly arrested, charged and remanded to appear before the courts, where he received a custodial sentence. PC Jason Appleby, from the BCH Road Policing Unit, said: “This is a great result which sends a clear message to anyone who like Pallerla has a flagrant disregard for the law, and that we will deal with them accordingly.” You can report information about a crime online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101.
