Dear Met Engage Members,

This is an update on what has been happening on the Barnehurst Ward.

The team have been carrying out proactive patrols on the ward. 

We have had an amazing uplift of residents  joining up to Met Engage. We would like to say thank you for taking the time to talk to me and joining up to Met Engage. It has been really nice meeting you all whilst doing the rounds on Barnehurst signing you up! 

Just to give you a brief insight to tasks that we do are when there are burglaries and theft of motor vehicles we carry out “cocooning”.  This is door to door enquiries to neighbours around the incident location for any information and CCTV we can gather and also to make them aware. A leaflet is also delivered with the details of the crime.  We will also visit the victim to offer reassurance and to give them crime prevention advice.  We continue to carry out patrols on the Ward showing a visible presence to help prevent crimes occurring.

I am very pleased to say that crime is very low on Barnehurst.

I will be holding a Community Contact Session at Barnehurst Golf Club tomorrow 8th January at 2pm.  Come along to say hello!
