Theft of a vehicle in Islip

Dear Resident

I just wanted to update islip's residents regarding the above.

A Grey peugeot brakes down in Islip on the 15 Dec having lost power & electrics.The owner then parts it by the gates to the sports pavillion manually locking it with a window slighly open.

It was then reported to northants police on New years day as a Theft of a motor vehicle due to it being parked in the middle of the road with its lights on & doors unlocked.Someone clearly attempting to steal it.

Officers arranged recovery & it got atored in a secure compound.

Had the owner had a breakdown policy in place it could have been recovered on the 15 Dec.

IS YOUR BREAKDOWN POLICY STILL ACTIVE, BEST TO DOUBLE CHECK ?

Vehicle:

Park your car in a garage or driveway if possible, or on a busy, well-lit road. Choose a ParkMark® accredited public car park wherever possible

Physically check your central locking system has activated to ensure the signal hasn’t been blocked and the car left unlocked

Store keys for keyless entry cars in a RFID pouch or foil lined tin to block signal from scanners that will remotely unlock your car e.g Defender Signal
