Dear Wimbledon Park residents, A residential burglary occurred on 28th December 2025, potentially around 2025 hours, on Durnsford Road SW19, whereby suspects gained entry to the rear of the property boundary and entered the Garden room in the garden and removed and stole 3 custom made pedal cycles. The National Pawnbrokers Associationprovide a list of vault venues in London. Safeguard your building Install a monitored burglar alarm to deter opportunist criminals.Good lighting is essential. Installing a dusk till dawn light can help identify people and is safer for people coming and going after dark.Lock all windows and double lock doors whenever you leave home, even just for a few minutes.Upgrade your door locks by using British Standard products. Ask a member of the Master Locksmiths Association for advice at www.locksmiths.co.ukStrengthen door-frames with hinge bolts, restrictor chains, London and Birmingham bars.Use a letterbox guard to stop people reaching in and helping themselves to your keys or opening the door.Consider installing CCTV or a video recording doorbell which records when motion is detected and allows live streaming to your phone whilst you're away. Secure your outside Lower fences and planting at the front of a property – no more than 1m high, allows a clear view and does not provide cover for someone hiding or trying to force a window or door.If possible do not store wheelie bins near fences and windows – it prevents their use as climbing aids for burglars.
