WalkSafe App |

|
West Mercia Police has introduced WalkSafe, a free personal safety app designed to help people feel more confident when out and about, particularly during busy periods and night‑time hours. WalkSafe is now available to anyone in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire. The app provides a growing list of safety‑trained venues, including bars, restaurants and other premises that meet recognised standards through schemes such as Licensed Security & Vulnerability Initiative (LSAVI) and Best Bar None. Key features of WalkSafePlan your route home using the in‑app journey tools Share your journey with trusted friends or family Access an SOS alert button if you feel unsafe Find accredited venues that meet recognised safety standards The rollout of WalkSafe supports West Mercia Police’s ongoing work to improve safety in public spaces, with a particular focus on protecting women and girls. The initiative is backed by West Mercia’s Police and Crime Commissioner and funded by the Home Office, ensuring the app remains available all year round. The number of accredited venues featured on the app continues to grow as more premises join the scheme. Licensed venues already accredited through Best Bar None or LSAVI, or those interested in becoming part of the app, are encouraged to contact their local Safer Neighbourhood Team for further information. WalkSafe is free to download from both the Apple App Store and Google Play. Simply search for WalkSafe to get started. | ||
